VILLAGE OF SHOREWOOD PASSES RESOLUTION TO TACKLE GUN VIOLENCE, DEATHS

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) –The Wisconsin group, Common Ground, says they are trying to curb gun violence and reduce gun deaths through a resolution called “Do Not Stand Idly By,” that was passed by Shorewood’s Village Board Monday night.

Supporters say they want to send a strong message to gun manufacturers by hitting them where it hurts, their wallets.

DNSIB STATEMENT ON PARKLAND, FL HIGH SCHOOL SHOOTING

We were saddened, but not shocked, by the senseless killings of 17 students and educators and the wounding of at least 15 others at the Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL on Wednesday.  Our prayers and condolences go out to this community as well as the many communities that live with and fear gun violence on a daily basis.  Let us use this moment when the nation’s attention is focused on this important issue to take strategic collective action to address all forms of gun violence.

METRO-IAF ACTION ALERT: DNSIB DEMANDS ACTION ON KILLER GUN TECHNOLOGIES

Metro-IAF Action Alert – In the wake of another mass shooting and the continuing daily toll of gun-related deaths in our cities, Metro IAF/Do Not Stand Idly By today demanded that government and gun industry leaders take immediate action to pull bump stocks from the U.S. market.  Bump stocks are the lethal technology that facilitated the killing of 58 people and the wounding of 851 others by a single gunman on October 1, 2017 in Las Vegas.

Metro IAF leaders demanded action from Attorney General Jefferson Sessions, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and the National Shooting Sports Foundation in letters released today.
